In this masterclass, I will use my years of experience teaching college-level English to teach students the basics of writing an essay, which include at a minimum:
Writing - Introductions, Thesis Statements, Topic Sentences, Transitions, and Conclusions.
Organizing an essay so it flows and reads well.
Developing ideas so the page limit is met, or exceeded, and the topic is properly addressed.
Integrating outside sources through direct quotes and paraphrasing.
Argument strategies such as counter-arguments and rebuttals.
Essay writing can be very scary for a lot of students, but when broken down, it WILL become a much easier, possibly even fun, process that will engrain confidence in students when writing for school.

Course setup
I have been teaching English (Composition & ESL) since 2014, and have both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English, with an emphasis on Language and Teaching. The most amount of students I have taught at once is about 45, so I am experienced in managing large groups, even on Zoom.
Thanks to my teaching, my students go on to succeed in all classes that require writing, and often come back to me for private lessons to help them with assignments from their other classes.
