About Stephen

Hello! My name is Stephen, and I am passionate about helping students learn, grow, and become better versions of themselves. With a strong academic background in Organizational Psychology and International Relations, along with experience in tutoring, teaching and coaching. I bring a psychological research backed, unique, experienced and supportive approach to teaching. I understand that every student learns differently, and with that in mind I seek to offer a personalized approach to helping my students succeed. I focus not only on improving marks, but also on building confidence, motivation, critical thinking, and effective study habits. My training in psychology allows me to recognize individual learning styles, reduce anxiety around challenging subjects, and help students build resilience and discipline in their schoolwork. I am fully proficient in English at a tertiary education level, and offer services to students from Grade R to Grade 12. My goal involves helping students not just better students, but better versions of themselves, who are capable, confident and competent. I also aim to create an environment where it is safe to make mistakes, as I believe this can be incredibly important in helping students to improve. Students can expect structured lessons, step-by-step explanations, practical support, and constructive feedback. Most importantly, they can expect someone who genuinely cares about their progress and is committed to helping them succeed academically and personally. As a tutor, I combine academic insight with real-world experience to create lessons that are engaging, personalized, and grounded in understanding how people learn best. With a background in Organizational Psychology and International Relations, I bring a unique teaching methodology that blends emotional intelligence, motivational coaching, and critical-thinking development. I focus not only on academic improvement, but also on building confidence, discipline, and effective study habits. I tutor in English, Business Studies, Dramatic Arts and Study Skills & Exam Preparation. I am particularly strong at helping students progress academically through tailored approaches, clear explanations, helpful examples, patient and encouraging guidance.
