About Mailan
I'll be able to help, support and encourage students with no judgment. I understand the difficulty and frustration of learning sometimes and I'll use students strengths in decreasing the hardship to make learning easier; by working slow, involving games, and help with study skills.

I help teach and implement skills to increase reading, writing and math. Some examples of interventions I use are; scaffolding, or providing supports for students, small-group instruction, use of technology, explicit phonics instruction, and offering choices of reading materials.
I understand all children are different, along with different styles of learning. I accommodate to each child and go at the pace they are comfortable with while trying to make learning more fun and engaging.
I have a bachelors degree in Psychology along with a Masters in Education. And while getting my degrees, I worked as a nanny helping with homework and addition to working with students in a residential setting. I have worked with a wide range of students.
