About LaRell

With over four years of experience as a Teacher Assistant and a deep-rooted passion for education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to tutoring. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnic Studies with a concentration in Black Studies and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work. This academic background, combined with hands-on experience in the classroom, allows me to offer a well-rounded approach to learning.

I would love to think I have a natural ability to connect with students, understanding their unique needs and learning styles. Having worked in diverse educational settings, including public, charter, and private/independent schools, I have developed strong skills in supporting students across various subjects and age groups. My commitment to helping children reach their full potential is evident in my patient and encouraging tutoring style.

As a tutor, I am dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment where students feel confident and motivated to succeed. Whether it’s reinforcing classroom lessons, helping with homework, or building foundational skills, I am committed to helping students achieve academic success.

About the lesson

Recognizing that every student learns differently, I practice patience and provide positive reinforcement. This supportive atmosphere allows students to feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes, which are essential parts of the learning process. I also regularly assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback, ensuring that they are on the right track and addressing any challenges promptly. This ongoing dialogue not only keeps students engaged and motivated, but it also reassures parents of their child's progress.
