About Corinne

Hello! We are Corinne de Beer and Duane Lawrence, passionate and professional dance coaches with a deep commitment to empowering dancers of all ages and levels. Corinne is an internationally experienced dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in South Africa. She is classically trained in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and street styles, and holds advanced dance qualifications including a Certificate of Higher Education in Contemporary Dance and Imperial Modern and Cecchetti Ballet certificates. Corinne has trained and performed on major world stages — from London’s West End to Wembley Stadium — and has choreographed for high-profile productions, TV shows, music artists, and major events both locally and abroad. She also coaches teams that have achieved Protea colors and top results at Hip Hop Unite World Championships. Duane Lawrence is the founder of Ubuntu B-Boys, a respected hip hop and breaking institution recognized for its role in the global street dance scene. With decades of experience traveling, performing, and teaching internationally — from Europe to the USA and Asia — Duane promotes hip hop culture, community engagement, and positive mentorship through dance. Ubuntu B-Boys also hosts platforms like the SA Hip Hop Cup, helping dancers compete and grow at national and world levels. Together, we bring professionalism, creativity, proven competitive success, and a supportive learning environment. Our teaching focuses on technique, musicality, performance quality, and individual growth, helping students build confidence, express themselves, and achieve their dance goals — whether for fun, fitness, or competition.

About the lesson

We offer Hip Hop, Breakdance, Contemporary, and urban dance lessons for dancers of all ages and experience levels. Our methodology is built on strong foundations, correct technique, musicality, and creativity, while keeping lessons fun, energetic, and motivating.

What makes us unique is our ability to adapt each lesson to the individual student’s goals. We coach dancers who simply want to enjoy movement and build confidence, as well as those training for competitions, performances, and high-level results. Our experience in producing national and world champion dancers allows us to structure lessons with purpose, progression, and measurable improvement.

Lessons typically include a warm-up, technique and foundation work, skill development, choreography or freestyle training, and performance or competition-focused exercises where appropriate. We create a positive and supportive environment that encourages discipline, confidence, and self-expression.

We are proficient and able to teach in English. Our lessons are aimed at beginners, intermediate, and advanced dancers, including children, teenagers, and adults. Each student receives guidance suited to their level, learning pace, and personal objectives.

Whether you are dancing for fun, fitness, confidence, or competitive excellence, our lessons are designed to help you grow while enjoying the process.
