About Nakita
Having written for various publications and worked with many burgeoning writers, I apply a highly nuanced mastery of the English language to every curriculum I design, in service of my students and their goals for written expression. Writing, as a form of thinking, is a soft skill that - when developed in the right ways - emerges very useful in countless opportunities. My undergraduate studies in Creative Writing and subsequent work writing English language textbooks for classrooms and content for newspapers and the web has exposed me to a lot of useful approaches to learning about the craft of writing. I like to think my approach is a blend of all the best qualities I've picked up from those who have taught and mentored me. I hope it is valuable to you.

As a tutor, I seek to bring out the latent talent and skills of my writing students. My goal is to help you exceed the expectations, not merely meet them, and to encourage you to surprise yourself along the way! In our first lesson, I'll quiz you to understand where you are at and where you want to be. My method is to then develop a custom curriculum for the specific goals and needs of the student, which combines reading, analytical writing assignments based on the readings, and student-led writing projects. Curriculums I have designed for students span the kindergarten to business and undergraduate level. All subject areas of interest related to the humanities, natural sciences, and craft of writing itself (nonfiction, creative, essay, fiction, etc.) are welcome!
