About Sierra
Hello! I’m Sierra, an experienced and passionate ESL teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages, including adults. I am TESOL certified and hold a bachelor’s degree in art with a minor in nutrition. I also hold an associate’s degree in education and science. I specialize in exam preparation (TOEFL, IELTS, KET), academic English, reading fluency, and personalized lessons for students of all levels. My teaching approach is dynamic and engaging, using videos, games, and interactive activities to make learning enjoyable while building critical thinking and practical skills. One of the highlights of my career is the long-term relationships I build with my students, with many staying with me for several years. Like many of you, I am a mother of two young boys, so I understand how important it is to help children succeed academically while nurturing a love of learning. My goal is to provide a supportive, results-driven environment where students gain confidence and achieve their goals.

Hello! I’m Sierra, an American ESL teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching students worldwide. I currently teach students in Germany, Italy, Japan, China, and the United States. One of the things I am most proud of is my longevity with my students—many have been learning with me for 8 years. I love watching them grow and develop, and I adapt my lessons to support each student throughout their English-speaking journey. I am TESOL certified and specialize in TOEFL, IELTS, KEY test prep, academic English, reading fluency, and curriculum from McGraw Hill, Cambridge, National Geographic, and more. Like many of you, I am a mother to two young boys, so I understand how important it is to help children succeed while fostering a love for learning. I can't wait to see you in my class! My Teaching Approach: I create personalized, student-centered lessons based on each learner’s level, goals, and interests. My method combines: Structured lesson plans to build foundational skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Interactive activities to reinforce learning and maintain engagement Practical application through real-life conversations, exam simulations, and academic exercises What Sets Me Apart: I bring a decade of experience, strong test prep expertise, and multi-curricular knowledge. I teach using a combination of academic texts, structured lesson materials, and engaging, student-centered techniques. My goal is not only to improve scores but to build confidence, independence, and lifelong English skills. A Typical Lesson: Warm-up: Brief introductions and conversation starters such as “How is your day?” or “What did you do today?” to get students speaking and comfortable. Focused Skill Practice: Targeted work on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, or exam techniques tailored to each student’s goals. Interactive Exercises & Games: Engaging activities to apply knowledge; for younger students, this may include songs, stories, or fun games. Homework & Practice: Students will complete speaking or grammar activities at home for practice. Writing homework is completed at home, submitted to the teacher prior to the next class, and corrections are reviewed and discussed at the start of the following lesson. Who the Lessons Are For: Students of all levels who want academic English, reading fluency, writing, or test prep Ages 4–adult Learners preparing for TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, or KEY exams These lessons are designed for students who benefit from personalized, structured, interactive lessons
