Gian is a colleague of mine, and a teacher who brings texts and language to life with enthusiasm and grace. Because of his writing and acting talents and experiences, Gian also possesses a keen understanding of words and how they work together to create new meaning. He is a practiced and patient teacher and lecturer, he knows his subject, and he welcomes all into his classroom.

We have known each other as friends and writing colleagues for almost 20 years. Gian is a first-class human being, a devoted teacher who really cares for his students and who works very hard. I've been to his classroom multiple times to give presentations, and it's easy to see how much the students love him.
