About Areesha

Hi! My name is Areesha, and I am a year 13 student currently undertaking A Levels in English Literature, History and Politics, as well as an EPQ. I have a particular passion and skillset in humanities and essay-based subjects. I am a model student, having received consistently high grades and recognition in my academic ability, and as a result wish to aid other students in their studies and to push them so that they can achieve their aspirations, regardless of how high!

I have been volunteering as an academic mentor for over a year and have worked closely with students who are either struggling in the subject or are hoping to achieve the best grade they can. I have also been working as a private tutor going on 6 months. Previous students of mine have gone from a grade 5 to a 9, a 3 to a 7, and a 7 to a 9. I have also frequently worked with my peers, helping them go from Bs to As and A*s. I have proven capability in pinpointing a student’s weaker areas and finding methods of improvement that suit the student’s preferences and needs. I am particularly adept in English, with my work being used as exemplars on frequent occasions.

With an abundance of resources (both made and found), experience and a genuine passion for the subject area, I know that I can help you maximise your potential and achieve to the best of your ability. I look forward to engaging with students and ensuring students know that there is no cap to their potential and that any goals can and should be achieved!

About the lesson

I will teach 1-2 hour lessons and my lessons will include revision techniques, essay structure, question timings, in-depth studies of the selected books, poetry, how to do on-the-spot analysis during exams, and more. I am also open to marking and grading student essays and providing detailed, targeted feedback.
