About Emily

I love helping people reach their academic goals! Whether English is your first language or your third or fourth, I am here to help and will do my best to maintain that expectation throughout our tutoring sessions! My students are mostly uni students, work professionals, and adult learners. I am kind, genuine, and straightforward. I know what it is like not to be allowed to be heard in academic and professional environments when asking questions or needing assistance and I am here to make sure that everyone is heard, their questions supported, and their goals accomplished. I graduated Cum Laude from American Military University with a BA degree in Intelligence Studies/Counterintelligence and currently pursuing a master's degree. We can do this! This is a safe, fun, and adaptive learning environment where students can be themselves while learning skills that can help them for a lifetime!

About the lesson

I take time in the beginning to assess a student's learning style and skill level. Once that has been determined, we discuss their needs and goals. I then discuss with them what steps are needed to reach that goal and what my expectations are for them as well as for myself. They are safe and free to ask questions at any time! I am kind, patient with learners, and I genuinely enjoy helping people reach their academic goals! I have experience working with neurodivergent students' needs in a variety of learning environments. Tutoring is available on all levels! I have over 12+ years of experience assisting students and clients at every level! A typical lesson will include a brief assessment, questions, and discussion of goals. Lessons will also include reviewing any assignment they bring to the session that they need help with, and we will go over what they want to express and how to get there through development of their writing, active listening, chosen activities, and verbal expression. A thorough analysis of progress and needs level will be conducted, and clear communication will be maintained throughout the entire partnership.
