About Raven
Violin students often assume that playing louder is the same as playing with better projection. I work with dedicated players to refine their technique through double stops, scales and arpeggios, shifting positions, ear training, classical repertoire, vibrato, and intonation.
Having taught 135 individuals, I know that progress requires a thoughtful eye. My Artist Diploma from the Eastman School of Music informs how I break down complex physical movements into manageable steps. I plan to keep our interactions supportive and clear as you develop your personal sound.

Honesty about the difficulty of mastering string technique forms the foundation of my teaching philosophy. I prefer to stop a student immediately if a pattern is not working rather than ignoring the problem for the sake of comfort. With 4 years of experience, I emphasize how shifting positions and vibrato contribute to a nuanced performance style.
My background allows me to simplify the mechanics behind complex ear training exercises to ensure you understand the internal logic of the music. I aim to help you reach a point where your instrument feels like a natural extension of your voice.
