About Laila

Hi! I am a rising high school junior with a passion for English, reading, and effective writing. Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently excelled in honors English courses and have already successfully completed college-level English curriculum.

Because I am currently navigating the school system myself, I have a fresh and up-to-date understanding of what it takes to succeed in today's classrooms. I know exactly how frustrating it can be to stare at a blank page writing an essay, and I love helping other students find their voice and build confidence in their communication skills.

Outside of my advanced coursework, I enjoy helping my peers and younger students master their assignments. I look forward to working with you to make English your favorite subject!

About the lesson

My Approach and Teaching Style:
I believe learning English should be engaging, active, and stress-free. As a current high school junior, I do not just lecture. I use an interactive, peer-to-peer approach. I share my knowledge by breaking down complex writing rules into simple formulas. I also use collaborative digital tools to brainstorm and edit essays in real-time.

Every 60-minute session is structured to maximize progress and keep students engaged:

The Warm-Up (5-10 mins): We check in on current school assignments and review goals for the day

Skill Building (15-20 mins): I teach a specific concept, like structuring a thesis or improving vocabulary, using clear examples.

Guided Practice (25 mins): We work together to apply the lesson directly to your homework or essay drafts.

Wrap-Up (5 mins): We review what we learned and set a quick action plan for the next school week.
