About James
Prior to being a private tutor, I stared work as a Learning Support Assistant in 2001 for a local college, having then progressed to teaching formally in the same facility as an IT Tutor at the BTEC level qualifications primarily for young adults aged 16-24.
I also had experience with more informal groups of learners of adult age (20+ and beyond) teaching computer hardware and software as well networking and security at NVQ and HND level.

Informal and down to earth teaching designed at a level for all people to understand. As a private tutor I tailor my teaching as informally as possible. I provide handouts for the student to keep, with exercises in order for the learner to retain and remember my instruction and believe that as a one to one tutor I provide an atmosphere where the students get the most out of what he or she wishes to.
I monitor each learner I teach and provide feedback and testing (although don't worry I keep it as informal as possible) and provide a detailed check list of items learned that both myself and the student retain as a way of permanently knowing his or her progression.
I think its helpful to make it rewarding and fun if possible depending on the age, level of knowledge and individual personality of my learner involved.
