About Courtney

Hello! My name is Courtney, and I’m a dedicated pre-law college student with a 4.0 GPA. I have strong experience in academic writing, research, and critical analysis, and I’ve worked on topics ranging from government and democracy to art history and English composition. I believe learning works best when it feels engaging and personalized, so I focus on breaking down concepts into clear steps that is suited for every learning style. I’m patient, organized, and committed to helping each student build both confidence and skills in their subject area. I’m here to support your academic growth and make learning fun for you!

About the lesson

Do you need help with English, writing, reading, or even the SAT? I know your struggle, and I’m here to help!

Here’s some info about me:

To begin with, while tutoring, I love to employ the Socratic method and active learning. Essentially, I ask thought-provoking questions, involve the student in the learning process, and guide them on how to get to the best answer/result.

When it comes to lesson structure, each lesson is personalized to the student. No two people are the same, so why should they all receive the same lesson? After discussion with the student, I will meet them at their level. We’ll go over prior material, build on it, and end with a short recap.

As for what sets me apart as a tutor, a few different things come to mind. One, I am a student just like you! I know what students tend to hate, and what they tend to like. Secondly, I have a strong academic background. I am a college junior with a 4.0 GPA, and I received a very high score on the SAT.

Finally, as I have tutored peers of all ages, I am comfortable with any age group. I am currently focusing on middle school, high school, and college-level students.
