My name is Maria Luiza Patury, or simply Malu :)
I am a classical dancer, recognized by the Union of Dance Professionals of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and with professional experience in the corps de ballet of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro and other independent projects, which include international collaborations. As a teacher, I have experience with children and adults.
Trained in ballroom dancing, especially Latin and Brazilian rhythms (samba de gafieira, bolero, swing, forró and zouk), with 5 years of experience as an assistant and teacher.
I am also a historian and anthropologist specializing in the Anthropology of Dance/Ethnochoreology and dance as intangible heritage.
I believe that dance and movement are very interesting paths for self-knowledge and personal expression. . In this sense, I think it is essential to adapt my classes to the goals and needs of my students, as well as help them to feel comfortable and fulfilled within the chosen
modality.
I am available to teach to all levels. Also available for creating choreographies for events such as weddings, parties, among others
