About Neve

My name is Neve, I'm a 25-year-old Canadian from Vancouver, Canada. I just moved to Paris on a working holiday visa!

Academic Background
I hold a BA in Cognitive Science, Literature & Critical Theory, and Psychology, and an MSc in Social and Cultural Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE).

Teaching Experience
I have worked as an English language assistant in a French lycée and have experience teaching children and adults in one-on-one settings. My approach is immersive, supportive, and focused on building conversational confidence.

About the lesson

My method and course structure
As a native Canadian English speaker with a Master's degree and experience teaching English in a French high school, I offer courses tailored to each student, with a strong preference for conversational English. My goal: to help my students speak with ease and confidence in a natural, relaxed, and supportive environment.

My method:
- Communicative and immersive approach, centered on free and spontaneous oral expression
- Guided conversations on various topics: current events, culture, travel, work, etc.
- Review of vocabulary and grammar in context, as needed
- Authentic media (videos, podcasts, articles) to enrich discussions
- Personalized feedback to gently correct and encourage progress

Typical course outline:
- Free or guided discussion around a chosen theme
- Corrections and suggestions (vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation)
- Short summary + suggestions for continuing to progress between sessions

Who are my courses for:
- Adolescents and high school students who wish to practice outside of the school setting
- Students and young adults who want to develop their oral fluency
- Adults of all levels seeking to maintain or improve their conversational English
- People preparing for a trip, an exam, an interview or an expatriation
