About Jacques
I am a software developer and UX designer by profession. I studied an undergraduate degree in computer science. I've been in software development for many years, first being self-taught, and then pursuing professional studies and a career in it. Software development is a passion of mine, and I enjoy teaching others about it.

I teach people who are just starting with programming, web development, or web design. We start by talking about what you know and what you don't know, and then we decide what to do next. After that, we work through lessons, and we work on small to medium-sized projects together to solidify the concepts you've learned.
I can teach in English or Afrikaans. In terms of programming languages, I can cover any of the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, F#, and SQL. In terms of web development frameworks, I can cover: React, Svelte(Kit), and Astro. I can also cover UI/UX or basic web design. Additionally, I can also cover any of the following: Git/GitHub, modern JavaScript tooling, REST APIs, and JSON.
I try to be as patient and encouraging as possible with new beginners, and to keep lessons practical and easy to follow.
