I am comfortable teaching English, writing, or other related topics to any level of learner. My approach is collaborative, non-hierarchical, and centers the student's discovery. I believe in helping students discover their unique way of learning and aim to challenge one's growing edges. Additionally, I believe in a relational approach to learning. I am to build relationships with whomever I am working with so that we can work together to create the best conditions for learning.
I am a writer and an editor with five years of experience working with individuals to develop their own voice. I am a recent graduate of the University of Washington (UW) where I studied Comparative History of Ideas and Philosophy. At the UW I worked as an editor at The Daily of the University of Washington for four years, serving as the editor-in-chief of the paper last year. The Daily has a circulation of 6,500 and an online readership of over 100,000 unique users annually. Since graduating I have been working with a Portland-based author to edit and conceptualize her upcoming book.
