About Cheryl

As an educator, there are several ideas to which I adhere to increase my professional character: I value collaboration: opening my instructional planning to new ideas and input from colleagues and parents often improves students' experiences in my lessons; my attire is business casual, including slacks, professional shirts, and patterned clothing, punctuality is integral so that I may maintain an effective pace for lesson content, positive attitude is critical, self-control and professional and responsible strive to speak, listen and verbally communicate positivity, knowledge of my abilities and weaknesses proves my professional awareness acknowledges my strengths and allow me to train others using my strongest skills. Finally, I consistently seek, listen and contemplate professional development concepts to find ways to improve my educational practice. Some resources I utilize are podcasts about education, professional teaching magazines, online learning modules, websites for educational products, and resources. Giving my best effort and going beyond the duties of my job, always keep my head and shoulder above the pack

Lessons are geared to the individual customized learning style of each child. Learning is made to be creative, challenging, stimulating, and fun1! Some of the techniques that I utilize are to offer choices, incorporating educational games like "Sum Swamp," which helps students add numbers in a fun way, and use hands-on activities, such as decorating a whole learning area with visuals and posters related to the subjects about which they're learning technology such as educational apps and create a fun learning environment that is visually stimulating, give plenty of breaks, every thirty to sixty minutes depending on the student's age.
