« Thomas and I go back about ten years. He was one of the very best students in our grad program in English Studies at Humboldt State University in the beautiful redwoods of northern California. I loved having him in my grad courses. He has a great deal of teaching experience after working as a tutor (a very popular one) in the Writing Center, and teaching in his own classroom in our Composition Program. He has a deep love of modern literature and is extremely intelligent about pop music, especially Metal. He is smart, very well trained in literacy pedagogy, and funny. I am an English composition instructor with years of writing center experience.

Methodology

My teaching and tutoring methods incorporate a critical pedagogical approach to the topic. In other words, I am not a preacher, who will dictate to you how something has to be done, but instead, I am more of a facilitator, and we will work together on your project.

Background

I am an adjunct English composition instructor with four years of classroom teaching experience and 5+ years of tutoring in writing centers. I currently teach at a small, private university, but I have community college, and career college experience as well.
