About Joanna

I am an experienced English tutor, having taught in England, Spain, America and Japan to all ages and at all levels. I teach business English, exam preparation for IELTS, FCE, Cambridge Advanced, TOEFL, ESOL Trinity and vocational exams as well as general English classes to adults and children and refugee groups. I have a background in Publishing, Marketing, School Administration and Life Coaching too and wide-varied interests in travel, languages, current affairs, environmental issues, education, health and the arts.

About the lesson

I employ diverse methodologies in my teaching; the key element for me is to customise my classes to suit the individual or group. It could be an exam class with robust preparation to guarantee good grades, or business English to support professional development. Employing diverse materials, games, activities and media is key to engaging young people's linguistic development, many adults too. My coaching background can help individuals determine and achieve their personal goals in linguistic attainment. For refugee groups I offer support in integrating into all aspects of their new lives in England, with role plays, other speaking activities and key vocabulary areas to ensure a sustained development of communication skills in English.

A very patient and kind teacher who gives lessons in a lively and wonderful way. She smiles all the time. Her teaching style is wonderful and she tries to focus on weak points and strengthen them. She always provides multiple activities and multiple study methods so that the student does not feel bored. Thank you, my English is better thanks to you.

Came to London four years ago and Joanna was recommended to me by a friend as I was desperately looking for a native speaking teacher as well as someone who can teach me the grammar from scratch. I cannot recommend Joanna enough, she is patient, speaks very well, professional, friendly, honest and her method of teaching one grammar is unique. I came out from every lesson I had with her feeling good and confident about my English and could easily hold a conversation with native speakers. Something else which stood out to me was Joanna’s wealth of global, political and social knowledge which makes every lesson/ discussion stimulating and interesting. After my great experience I have been recommending her to anyone, who is looking to learn or improve their English.

I can describe my experience with Teacher Joanna as productive and professional. She is also very flexible, adaptable and above all patient. She has a lot of experience and passion when it comes to teaching and discovering the method that best suits for your circumstances, I highly recommended to have someone like her to teach English.

I have been a student of Joanna for more than a year and I can say so far that she has been an excellent teacher, I always learn something new in every class. She has a creative approach which helps us to be more demanding with ourselves. I can thoroughly recommend her.
