About Rae

English Language Studies BA Hons, PGCE in Post-compulsory Education. Teaching ESOL to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in North East England for the past five years. I'm involved in a few conversation groups helping people integrate into wider society by improving their English. I have previously taught at a refugee service and aided in teaching about living in the UK as well as the immigration system.

About the lesson

I'm always keen on listening to students' needs and preferences. So I build my lessons on what is most pertinent for the student at that time. I create learner profiles for students which are reviewed from time to time to make sure we are meeting their goals.

Vanessa

Rae is an excellent teacher who can not only anticipate a student's individual needs when learning a language, but who also engages with students and their individual needs in order to boost confidence and encourage excellence. She is a passionate teacher and extremely committed to ensuring a depth of understanding and skill in her language area. Held in very high regard by those she has previously taught, she is very attentive, and stays abreast of new techniques and educational developments. As a fellow teacher, I can say that Rae is extremely committed to her students and their learning and will go above and beyond in order to provide the best educational experience for her students
