About Cade

My name is Cade Parrott. I first learned to play chess from my grandfather when I was young, but I never really came to appreciate the game fully until 2020. The COVID lockdowns exposed many bored people to the game of chess, myself among them. As I experimented online, my interest was piqued, and I began truly studying the game. I quickly reached a rating of 1300 rapid online and decided to share my love for the game with my peers in high school. I founded the Middleton High School Chess Club, wherein I learned to teach the game. My own playing strength continued to rise as time went on, and I participated in a few tournaments. My rating has since risen to 2300 Rapid on Chess.com, and my passion for the game continues to grow. I also lead a local young adults Bible study. I look forward to the opportunity to further share the joy of chess with others!

About the lesson

I’m offering personalized, one-on-one chess lessons for children, teens, and adults—from learning the rules to becoming a more confident competitive player.

We’ll work at your pace on skills such as:
• Spotting threats and avoiding common mistakes
• Finding tactics and thinking ahead
• Understanding opening plans and endgames
• Learning from your own games

Each lesson includes focused practice and a clear skill to work on afterward.

In-person lessons in Star and Eagle; other Boise-area locations by arrangement.
Online lessons available.
