About Nick
Hello,
I'm Mr. Plefka. I have been an elementary school teacher for over 15 years. I have taught students from kindergarten through 8th grade both in-person and online. My passion is reading, writing and speaking, but I also tutor in social studies, science and math.

My approach as a tutor is very similar to my approach as a classroom teacher. I create a welcoming environment, connect with students and give them the tools they need to find the answers they're seeking. Typical lessons include building connection, exploring knowns/unknowns, presenting a skill and guiding students while they practice application. The final step would be to do some sort of assessment.
