About Amy

I’m an experienced teacher who has taught in a school considered in the top 1% of schools in terms of Progress 8 (a score to demonstrate the rate of progress a student can make in their learning). I’ve line managed the department (psychology and sociology), which has led to the subjects taught being two of the highest in terms of attainment within the school. Many students I have taught have gone on to study at Russell Group/Oxbridge universities/international universities. Can offer UCAS/personal statement support. I currently work with the Department for Education and a mental health charity to improve mental health provisions in school and education settings.

About the lesson

With a wealth of experience, lessons will always be engaging and practical. They will mirror what makes an outstanding lesson, including: - Recall of learning - Spaced practice of prior learning (topics learnt at the start of the year) - Modelling and learning hooks to help with recall - Assessment of learning (e.g. quick-fire questions, marking practice exam questions) - Use of interactive revision techniques/games - Evidence-based revision techniques (meta-cognitive techniques) - Stress reduction techniques and coaching for self-efficacy techniques
