About Eryn

I am a Jr. in college who has a passion for helping students who need help in the Libral Arts areas. As a student I struggled with reading comprehension and writing skills. Through my academic career I was able to find the most effective ways for me to learn, and I am passionate about passing those same learning skills to other students.

I also acted as ASL teacher for immigrants. It helped to teach me the importantce of being able to simplify a lot of information in the most effective way possible as it can be overwhelming, and also allowed me to build solid relationships with my students

I love being able to make an impact in someone elses life. I also feel that being able to teach a certain subject to someone else will allow you to continue to master it yourself.

My first teaching job was working at an immigration center to help students pass their citizenship exams. During that job, I noticed that the teacher was not adapting to the different learning styles in the classroom. As the assistant teacher, I took it upon myself to offer extra help and to find different ways to help the students retain the information and excel. Ever since then I have loved helping people of all ages find different ways to learn, and loved the feeling of making a small difference in someone's life.

I am a Junior in college, and my majors are incredibly lesson and lecture-based. That being said, I have experience of writing business proposals, creative writing, history papers, and analysis reviews. I have also worked as a tutor for 3+ years for ASL and writing skills.

Before we get into writing, I like to know your problem areas and tailor my approach from there. I struggled with writing growing up, and it forced me to find unconventional ways of elevating my writing technique. My goal is to pass those techniques onto my students and help writing because fun and easy instead of feeling like a chore.

I have worked with toddlers and adults

Look for a teacher that is flexible and understands that sometimes information needs to be tailored to the student. Everyone learns differently and that is fine. Look for someone with patience, understanding, and someone who looks to build a relationship with their students.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be honest about where your struggle areas are, and ask if there are any short cuts because more often than not there are. Ask your teacher how they have been able to make writing a fun experience for themselves. Ask about their writing process, and where they struggle. Through that, you will be able to see your tutor's work ethic, and the skills they will be able to pass along to you.
