About Hanajah
Hi I'm Hanajah. I am passionate about supporting students in their academic growth and helping them build confidence in their abilities. I have three years of tutoring experience, working with students in Math, Reading, Science, and Writing. During that time, I learned how to explain challenging concepts clearly, adapt lessons to different learning styles, and help students improve step-by-step. My experience as a Summer Camp Counselor also strengthened my teaching approach. I led activities designed to support students' social, mental, and academic development, and I encouraged them to stay curious and confident as they prepared for the next grade level. These experiences taught me how to make learning engaging, supportive, and approachable for all types of learners. Overall, I strive to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenged to grow, and proud of their progress. I look forward to helping each student reach their goals with clarity, confidence, and consistency.

I use a combination of guided practice, interactive questioning, and real-world examples to help students stay engaged and confident. I often begin by assessing the student's baseline understanding, then tailor my explanation style—whether visual, verbal, or hands-on—to match how they learn best. I also check comprehension throughout the lesson, encouraging students to explain concepts back to me to reinforce mastery. A Typical Lesson Plan Quick check-in & goal setting - Discuss what the student is working on in class and identify the main objective for the session. Concept review - Go over key ideas using clear explanations and examples. Guided practice - Work through problems or reading passages Independent attempt - The student practices on their own while I provide support as needed. Progress assessment & feedback - Evaluate understanding, celebrate improvements, and outline next steps for continued growth. My lessons are designed for elementary and middle-school students who need support in Math, Reading, Science, or Writing. I have experience helping learners at different skill levels, including students who need additional practice to meet grade-level expectations and those who simply want to strengthen their skills. I'm also comfortable with teaching English in general for language. Overall, I pride myself on my ability to create a supportive, motivating learning environment. I don't just help students complete their work, I help them build confidence, develop effective study habits, and truly understand the material. My experience monitoring student progress over time ensures that I can quickly identify where a student is struggling and adjust my approach accordingly.
