About Colleen

I am about to graduate with a degree in Television Screenwriting and a minor in Writing from Syracuse University. I am passionate about creative writing, and I have a knack for grammar. I hope to help students to become comfortable in their writing and grammar abilities so that they are able to write clearly and expressively. Ultimately, I want to show students that writing is not intimidating once you get the hang of it, and it can be a wonderful expressive outlet.

I am the oldest of four children in my family, and I babysat a lot in high school. Because writing and grammar is something that comes naturally to me, I have always enjoyed helping other students to become more comfortable with it. To me, writing is enjoyable and cathartic, and it's very rewarding to help students get over any confusing or intimidation that they may have surrounding writing and grammar.

I am an honor's student at Syracuse University graduating May 2020 with a degree in Television Screenwriting and a minor in Writing. In college, I completed many writing courses such as creative writing courses, digitial writing courses, professional writing courses, poetry courses, and professional-level grammar courses as well as screenwriting and comedy screenwriting courses. In high school, I took multiple advanced creative writing courses, literature courses, advanced vocabulary courses, and I passed the AP English Language exam.

My typical process is an initial phone call to discuss students' needs and objectives to see whether I am the right fit. From that point on, I form a schedule tailored to my students' availability and form an individualized lesson plan based on their current level of ability and their academic goals.
