About Dawn

I am a 4th & 5th Grade public education teacher. I've taught reading/writing for 10+ years.

I went into education as a family inspiration and for the flexibility of raising my children by being on the same schedule.

I have taught in public education for 20+ years. I have taught a wide range of students and ages from early elementary to high school, from gifted to challenged. I've taught the last 8 years in 4th and 5th grade ELA and Reading.

About the lesson

First, I like to get to know the student; their likes, wants and needs.

Second, I like to see their learning style. What works best for the students; auditory, visual, etc.

As mentioned previously, I have taught a wide range of students and ages from early elementary to high school, from gifted to challenged. I've taught the last 8 years in 4th and 5th grade ELA and Reading.

Personality, look for a teacher that fits your personality and will take the time to teach you based on how you learn.

Recently, due to the Covid situation, I started teaching my students online and I absolutely love it. I loved the Zoom lessons and using a variety of fun platforms. It gives a wide variety of choices.

Do you show the entire project, then break it down piece by piece, or do you just explain?

I feel that $20 per hour to begin with is fair. That's only $1 per every year I've taught and it's an average per hour for online tutoring.
