About AJ

Hi there!

My name is AJ Faille and I am third year student at the University of California, Irvine. I graduated this last year as Criminology, Law, and Society major with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Currently I am getting my Master's of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the same school. I have a mastery of the English language as well as extensive knowledge on writing as I have written several research papers and blog articles on various subjects. I also used to be a referee for youth basketball before leaving for college, so I am able to work well with kids and help them understand at whatever level they may be at.

I'm passionate about being able to encourage and improve others' writing abilities as I had struggled a lot growing up with writing. I had never seemed to have the skills to write well through middle and high school; however, I now have a mastery in the subject and I would love to be able to teach those who might being going through a simlar struggling point as I did.

I have peer tutored several students throughout college in terms of writing their essays and formatting them appropiately in order for them to achieve the grade they desired.

When I begin working with a new student, we would start by looking at where they are at with a recent essay they have written or any recent work they have done. From there I will be able access where the student's level is currently at and will be able to provide tools useful for the student to improve on their learning. A common thread that I always tend to focus on with students is their willingness to learn because if a student is unwilling to learn it makes the process nearly impossible to achieve any progress with.



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
In terms of questions that you should think through is when are you available as well as honestly assessing where you are currently at with your writing ability. Likewise, you should think about if tutoring is right for you as it was something that I was very against at a young age, and as I mentioned before, I feel it to be absolutely necessary for the student to want to learn. Again, however, I think tutoring and sharing knowledge and working with someone and a one on one basis can be greatly impactful for a student. I wish I had been more bought into the idea of tutoring when I was younger because I know it would have helped me and I hope you decide it to be useful as well.

Details

My pricing for all students will be the same rate at $25 an hour. Most often I find that half an hour on different days is the most efficient way to maximize learning speed more so than 1 or 2 hours on one day of the week.
