I have always enjoyed working one-on-one with students, whether tutoring, providing academic advice, or just chatting about the next best step forward. It is a thrill and an honor for me to see a student achieve their potential.

I started teaching at the high school level: my first year I taught 9th, 10th, and 12th grade Language Arts classes; my second year, I taught 5 sections of 9th grade Language Arts classes.

After that, I began teaching ESL as an adjunct instructor at Michigan State University, and, following the completion of my Master's Degree, continued teaching ESL at Albion College.

I received my Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University in Secondary Education, with a major (36 hours) in English.

I received my Master's Degree from Michigan State University in Education, with an emphasis on academic advising for student-athletes and Sport Administration.

About the lesson

I understand that time is valuable, so my first priorities are to diagnose my student's needs, to develop an understanding of my student's expectations (e.g. deadlines, what students hope to achieve, etc.), and to set goals, all while developing a friendly rapport.
