About Kiersten

Hi there! I am a current fifth grade teacher who is dedicated to student success and will do what is necessary to ensure they achieve their goals. I am certified in grades Pre-K-5. I have been teaching officially for one year and have 2+ years of experience teaching and working with students inside the classroom. I believe in modeling to introuduce new skills to students and employ the gradual release model to help them build up their skills so that they can use them independent of myself.

I enjoy students' light bulbs going off once they realize that what they thought was so hard is actually not so hard at all. I also enjoy increasing my students' level of excitement about a topic. It is always a joy when a student comes up to me with a new fact they've learned about a topic we are discussing, or asks more questions because they simply want to know more. I look forward to helping your child achieve his or her academic goals!

I have a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I am certified to teach grades Pre-K through 5th.

I like to get to know my students and I like for them to get to know me. I will talk with them and find out their hobbies and interests so that I may incorporate them into a lesson to make topics more relatable. I also will administer a pretest in the student's content areas of growth.
