About Justin

I provide a comprehensive approach to tutoring that really pay attention to the individual student, their strengths and weaknesses. I help to create a customized approach that will make learning fun but also effective and lasting.

I have been teaching and helping other students ever since I was in college. It is something I have always enjoyed doing.

I studied child development and engineering in school. This has given me a good understanding of working with children and I have a good sense of how to help students primarily with Math. I am good at all other subjects too, but Math is my favorite to work with students in.

During school and afterwords, I worked as a tutor with student-athletes and then later with younger children as part of an outreach program in New York City to help students in need to improve in school.

I love working with new students. I like to have a phone call with the student or parent of the student depending on how old the student is to first understand the basics of what the needs are. In my first session, I will evaluate and determine the needs of the student and then we can map out how our sessions will process from there.

Details

Typically I charge $30 for a 1-hour session for Elementary through High School. More advanced subjects and other types of instruction are quoted on a case-by-case basis. If the student is based in the Los Angeles area then I don't add anything for travel/gas. If the student is further out, then I will work out a per session fee for travel compensation.
