About Alissa

-Public school teacher with 20+ years of experience in Elementary and Middle School Grades 1-8 (with a focus on Gifted Students)

-Tutored students of all ages through high school from studying and excelling in their math exams, to learning how to stay organized with regular homework help "check & review."

-Affable, easy-going personality that kids feel comfortable to be around and confident to ask questions, yet firm to stay on task and focus on completing the assignment.

You're not going to get a more experienced, knowledgeable tutor than this...I am the Teacher! I have taught every kind of learner in all classroom settings, from Common Core to Back to Basics (my own idea!). I also am uniquely qualified to help your child improve their scores on those yearly, district tests since I personally have written those standardized test questions.

-I first graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Business Management Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources. My goal setting out in life was to work in the Human Resources department in the Entertainment industry.

I first was hired as an Administrative Assistant at Paramount Pictures, and then transferred/promoted to Sony Pictures as a Human Resources Supervisor for a few years before deciding to return back to University of California, Irvine, to obtain my professional teaching credential.

This background has enabled me to achieve a special Authorization in Single Subject Business Economics/Mathematics. Therefore, not only do I have a graduate-level, professional Multiple Subject Credential, but I am authorized to teach or tutor math students such as Algebra 1 in middle school.
