About Fiona
- What kind of experience do you have? I have worked professionally as an actress, singer, drama and singing teacher, vocal coach and director for the last ten years. After graduating from Drama School, I toured for a number of years as a professional actress in a wide variety of productions, combining this with working as a presenter and voice-over artist. I am currently involved with a Bristol based theatre company as an actress. I sing with a Jazz Quartet at functions, private parties and weddings. I am also an examiner for LAMDA (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art), I examine Acting, Public Speaking, Reading for Performance, Verse and Prose, Musical Theatre, Devised Theatre and Mime exams from Introductory to Diploma level. I absolutely love my work and the variety that comes from it! - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes I do. - Where and with whom did you train? I trained as an actress and singer at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art for two years full-time. At drama school I trained in singing under the direction of Darrel Mouton, a singing tutor at the Royal College of Music. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? EQUITY, General Teaching Council - Tell me about some of your current students. I currently teach privately from home. My students are diverse and come from all walks of life, currently my youngest is seven years of age and my oldest is seventy! Some choose to take acting, public speaking and singing exams, some don't and just want to build their experience and confidence. The choices and options are endless, but what I can say is that my students walk out of the door differently to when they first arrived!

Perfect! I highly recommend Fiona as an accent reduction tutor.
They are incredibly friendly and always quick to respond to messages, making communication easy and efficient.
I was initially worried that I would find a speech session embarrassing, but Fiona creates a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that puts you at ease. I'm already seeing positive results from our sessions, which have been great in person, and online.

Fiona is a brilliant teacher. She listens to what you are interested in and where you want to end up. She doesn't force you into taking exams and gives advice on how to improve your singing outside of the lessons. She also introduces you to new songs and styles. Fiona is very positive and will always give feedback after lessons. She has taught me how to put emotion into songs. I feel that I have improved massively since having lessons with Fiona!
Fiona's supportive teaching and expertise quickly helped me find confidence and focus in my voice. Fiona was happy to work with a range of material and sensitive to my 'beginner' status - her teaching was a very important foundation for me.
