About Will

I won't sugarcoat it...I was really good at school. But I want to share my practices with eager students! I truly believe STEM is the most valuable skillset you can have as a professional, and I truly believe that math, science, and logic trumps everything else.

Aside from STEM related experiences, I played football, hockey and lacrosse throughout high school and continued playing lacrosse for UW-Madison during my time as an undergraduate. I love to play video games, make music, and explore the city of Chicago!

As for my professional experience, I earned my undergraduate degree from UW-Madison in Mechanical Engineering with a certificate in entrepreneurship. I've worked as an engineer for Raytheon Aerospace, BP Oil & Gas, and Bulley & Andrews Construction. I even took a two-year hiatus to earn a secondary degree in audio engineering, where I recorded and mixed artists around Chicago for a couple years! Outside of work, I've built motorcycles, Formula 1 cars, 3D printers...the list goes on and on.

I LOVE science and I love tutoring and mentoring, and I can help you develop the right skillset and methodologies to excel in school!

About the lesson

Science is hard - not just hard to understand, but hard to appreciate and enjoy. Many students ask themselves "When will I ever use this stuff? Who cares?". Welp - I was that student many years back. But over time, I've learned how applicable so many of the lessons learned in grade school can be to real engineering jobs in aerospace, oil and gas, manufacturing, and construction!

- My teaching methodology revolves around a few core principles: consuming and memorizing the material (textbook-based studying), real-world applications, and finally, practice geared towards crushing your exam!
- A typical lesson plan would include learning fundamentals and finding out whether or not the material is sticking (recalling equations, definitions, etc.), exploring where those fundamentals occur in the real world, then drilling those fundamentals into the brain through repetition and practice.
- I have a very unique set of interpersonal and social skills that most engineers simply don't have (and believe me, I know the type). As an older cousin, I grew up around the younger crowd and know how to connect with middle schoolers and high schoolers. And best of all, I have real-world practical experience in engineering-related problems!
- My tutoring is for STEM students of all age groups of any level!
