I help beginner pianists understand what they’re playing—not just memorize it.

Hi, I’m Matthew! I teach beginner and early-intermediate piano students throughout the East Valley through personalized, in-home lessons.

I’ve played piano for more than 10 years and have experience teaching kids, working with musicians and bands, and creating original music. My goal isn’t just to show students where to put their fingers—I want them to understand why the music works so they can eventually play with confidence and independence.

Because I was homeschooled myself, I understand that every student learns differently. My lessons are patient, encouraging, and adapted to the individual student. We build strong fundamentals while learning chords, rhythm, music theory, technique, and songs they actually enjoy.

I also encourage students to ask questions, experiment, make mistakes, and be creative. I want students to feel like they’re learning how to make music, not simply memorizing exercises.

Want to see how I teach before booking? Check out my beginner piano series - Starting the Keys and other piano content on Instagram at @MattCazaMusic

Send me a message to schedule an introductory lesson. I’d love to hear what you or your child wants to learn and help build a plan to get there.
