About Ollie

I am an experienced musician having spent many years gigging and performing a range of styles with a variety of artists.

I am a recent graduate from the Masters course at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, earning a distinction in Jazz Drums Performance. Prior to this, I gained a First Class Honours BA Music Degree from the University of Southampton. Whilst there, I received the Thomas Seltz Prize for outstanding contributions to Jazz & Pop Performance.

My first love is Jazz, however I am influenced and well-versed in many genres, including Latin, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Rock, Funk, Soul and Hip-Hop.

About the lesson

Having been inspired by my own fantastic teachers, I am passionate about education and to aim to provide insightful lessons that focus on technique, dexterity and musicianship.

As a teacher, I aim to cater my lessons to the students specific needs and goals, whether this be working towards a grade exam or preparation for a performance/ concert. My lessons can cover everything from the basics, to advanced concepts, with a strong emphasis on artistic development. I have a wide range of teaching experience, from private tutoring to school instrument teaching allowing me to quickly identify the needs of my students and construct meaningful exercises to combat these. My goal as a tutor is to help develop good, strong technique and proficiency on the instrument whilst also inspiring a love of the instrument

I offer 30 minute to 1 hour lessons face to face or online for all ages and abilities in drumming, music production and music theory.
