When it comes to tutoring chess, my approach hinges on understanding each student's unique learning style and level of experience. Here's how I usually break it down:

Assessment: Start with a quick game to gauge their current skill level. This helps me tailor lessons to fit their needs and goals.

Foundations: Make sure the basics are solid. I cover key concepts like piece movement, opening principles, and basic tactics.

Interactive Learning: I make lessons engaging with interactive exercises and puzzles. This keeps students involved and thinking critically.

Game Analysis: Review and analyze games together. We discuss mistakes and missed opportunities to better understand strategic thinking.

Incremental Challenge: Gradually increase the complexity of lessons. Introducing advanced strategies, opening repertoires, and endgame techniques over time ensures constant progress.

Encouragement and Feedback: Foster a positive learning environment. I celebrate wins and view losses as learning opportunities, always providing constructive feedback.
