I approach my teaching based on the learning style of my students. As a special education teacher, I understand that each learner is unique. I don’t assume students have a certain background knowledge of the topic so that basic skills required to master a skill are not missed. I like to teach using small distinct steps so that if there is a difficult part, the student and I can focus on that skill set.
I build a relationship with my students so that they feel comfortable and confident. Students must take risks in learning and that requires trust in their teacher. I make learning fun and bring enthusiasm so that students are truly interested and motivated to learn.
