About Samuel
My teacher was a student of Ivan Galamian, who taught Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman, and I am passionate about passing on the beautiful tradition of the violin. My aim is to kindle a love of music in beginning / intermediate students that will hopefully last for the rest of their lives. I believe that a solid grounding in well-established violin technique is crucial to individual expression.
My personal motto is that technique must be combined with artistry to produce mastery!
I'm looking forward to working with you :)

Lessons are an hour and begin with a 15 minute technical / skill-building component, and then a 45 minute portion devoted to repertoire and performance, in the traditional Galamian format. Technique focuses on scales, etudes, and exercises to build fundamental skills that will be used across the violin repertoire. Both technique and repertoire will be tailored to the skill progression and interest of the pupil over time.
