Hi! I’m Kortni, an experienced educator and instructional coach with a passion for helping students succeed. Since 2019, I’ve worked with elementary and middle school students in both classroom and small-group settings, supporting them in reading, writing, and math. I specialize in making learning clear, engaging, and confidence-building. Whether a student needs to strengthen foundational skills, prepare for assessments, or develop effective study habits, I create lessons tailored to their needs and goals. As a tutor, I focus on creating a learning environment that is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. My teaching method combines clear explanations, guided practice, and interactive strategies to keep students engaged. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps while encouraging students to think critically and build confidence.
A typical lesson with me begins with a quick check-in on prior knowledge and goals for the session. From there, we move into a focused mini-lesson, practice activities, and immediate feedback. I always end with a short recap and actionable next steps, so students leave knowing exactly what they’ve learned and how to keep improving.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to different learning styles and make lessons feel approachable rather than overwhelming. As an instructional coach and educator with years of classroom experience, I understand how to balance patience with high expectations. I also bring in real-world examples and strategies to help students see the why behind what they’re learning.
My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students who need support in literacy, writing, and math, as well as students with ADHD or learning differences who benefit from structure, encouragement, and personalized strategies.
