About Angelo Luis

Living in Galewood, Chicago with my two dogs, Leo and Nala, I've found myself in a place where I can make use of my time to help others! In my time as a tutor and special educator, my focus isn't only to help you finish homework or assignments, but to better prepare you towards independence. I have been tutoring students for over 7 years including my 3 years of experience in AVID! I also am currently working for a non-profit where I am the lead educational advisor, supporting educators overseas and providing best-practices resources for their own classrooms and how to implement them!

About the lesson

I've been in the AVID space for over 3 years focused on facilitating academic conversations for high school students and deepening their knowledge and understanding, ultimately creating independence and self-efficiency when it comes to learning. In the AVID space, we focus heavily on college and helping first-generation students to enter the 4-year university space seamlessly! In addition, as a special educator, my goal is always to meet you, not the other way around. You'll find me changing how your teacher may be giving you certain homework/assignments and changing it to YOUR learning preferences. Overall, you'll not just see me as a tutor, but as a mentor in whatever aspect you want to include me in. Want to talk about college? You got it! Want help deciding which clubs to join? You got it! Want to talk about time-management and organizing better? You got it!
