About Dimitry

Hi there! My name is Dimitry, and I am a state-certified teacher and professional educator with over ten years of experience in public, private, and specialized corporate classrooms. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bard College and a Bachelor of Arts in English, which allows me to bring deeply researched, professional methodology to every single session. My expertise spans across English Language Arts (ELA), creative writing, reading comprehension, and intensive ESL for adult professionals looking to advance their careers. Throughout my career, I have worked with incredibly diverse groups of learners, from public high school Honors English students to adults building real-world conversational fluency. Additionally, being fully fluent in Russian gives me an exceptional understanding of how to coach non-native speakers through the exact cultural and linguistic shifts needed to master natural English phrasing. Outside of the academic classroom, I bring a unique blend of creativity and structure to my work. I run a registered digital video production agency and have years of experience coaching sports, which means I understand the value of discipline, pacing, and goal-oriented focus. My teaching philosophy relies on engaging my students using dynamic communication, tailored support, and a sense of humor to ensure that learning is both highly effective and enjoyable. I look forward to partnering with you to crush your learning goals!

About the lesson

Every lesson I design is structured around clear, actionable learning goals tailored entirely to your personal or professional objectives. Backed by a Master of Arts in Teaching and formal state teaching certifications, my instructional approach relies on proven educational methodologies rather than generic conversation. Whether we are tackling high-stakes business communication, prepping for an upcoming interview, or mastering advanced English essay writing and grammar, I foster an engaging, interactive, and highly supportive environment. I specialize in breaking down complex language barriers, sharpening pronunciation, and helping students transition from overthinking vocabulary to speaking with absolute confidence. You will do the vast majority of the talking in our sessions, and you can expect to leave every single lesson with practical skills, constructive feedback, and phrases you can immediately put to use.
