About William

From a recent letter of recommendation:

While I have taught with many
instructors, Dr. Swetnam has stood out as one that is particularly qualified, experienced, and
dedicated. Therefore, I highly recommend that he be given the opportunity to teach in the English
Language Institute (ELI).
Dr. Swetnam was hired to the ELI partly for his professional background and educational
experience. Having taught for many years in many different fields, he was seen to be an asset to
the ELI, and he has been. He draws from his training and experiences to effectively instruct
students as well as deal with the issues that often occur with teaching English Language Learners.

job and his students. He has taught a variety of levels and skills, collaborated with colleagues,
served on committees, assisted with orientations, taught classes in the MATESOL program, and
attended professional development seminars.
