3+ years experience as a teaching assistant or course instructor (St. John’s College, Columbia, ICP)
Studied Philosophy & Classics, then Comparative Literature & Linguistics
I don’t believe grades are a measure of a person’s knowledge, but the American education system values certain types of writing and reading skills and has particular ways of evaluating them. I have never had less than an A (4.0) in any English / Literature class in my life. Fair to say I know how you’re supposed to ace these assessments, and I’m willing to teach others because anyone can learn these tricks to become a confident writer.

LATIN & GREEK
- we will use athenaze for intro, Chase & Phillips for reference, and Smyth’s Greek Grammar also
- you will receive the exact same curriculum taught at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and in most private boarding schools in the country.
EDITING
- Proofreading / editing of personal projects
- Editorial deep dive— work through any piece of writing you are struggling with and give detailed, line by line feedback about style, syntax, prosody, and word choice.
