About Faith
I continually work hard to become a more effective teacher, writer and editor, researcher, and course designer. My more generous students say that: I’m knowledgeable (with good stories and clear examples), kind, helpful, patient, creative, energetic, passionate, and respectful. I try to embody most of those qualities in my work.
After obtaining my Ph.D., specializing in metamemory, I combined my interest in perception and memory with media design (my graduate degree from ITP, NYU) , to research the effects of font layout and displays on reading and memory. I became a full-time academic for about six or seven years. Subsequently, I worked part time, which gave me the flexibility to spend time with my family, and pursue editing and writing. I’ve recently re-started my research program and am delighted to work one-on-one again with students. At the same time, I am writing a book on statistics in business, and looking for more editing and teaching work.
I have been fortunate to have worked with, and known, many talented and inspiring students (primarily undergraduate), faculty, administrators, and other professionals throughout my career. Most students who have worked with me on research projects have successfully pursued graduate degrees. 100% of our research projects have been published or presented in some format, with their names as authors or co-authors.
