About Caleb

I enjoy tutoring and math, and I love seeing students grasp difficult concepts and focus on teaching students not just how to solve the problems, but how to approach the problems so that they can figure out how to solve them themselves. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Creative Writing from Union University and have five years of tutoring experience and one year of experience teaching math and writing at a middle and high school level.

I got started tutoring in high school when a parent approached me about helping their child with their homework twice a week.

I have experience tutoring various students at different grade levels and have done extremely well in my various math classes.

About the lesson

If a new student has any specific questions, I will attempt to address those first. If not, I will usually look over a syllabus or study guide if they have one and ask them about their comfort level with each of the concepts listed. Once I've found an area that the student needs to work on, I mainly operate by guiding the student through the process of solving whatever kind of problem corresponds with the concept we are reviewing, focusing on helping them think through the problem and solve it themselves rather than solving it for them.
