About Cassandra

Studio Bella Voce & Performing Arts was organized in Leipzig, Germany in 2005 by Cassandra Pynes, singer, teacher and actress. It is currently located in Denver, offering vocal and dramatic studies, performance opportunities, showcase and audition preparation for aspiring performers. Cassandra Pynes has been performing since the age of 5. She has sung over 23 operatic roles, and both musical theater and straight acting roles professionally for over 30 years. She has a BA in Theater Arts from St. Edwards university in Austin, Texas and a Masters in Vocal Performance from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. You can check out some of her performances online at YouTube - just type in her name and many will come up. You can see her perform Floria Tosca from "Tosca", Dona Anna from "Don Giovanni", Roselinda from "Die Fledermaus", Leonora from "Il Trovatore" and Guilietta from "The Tales of Hoffman". Also on YouTube you can find her production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with a young singer who was an amazing Amahl in Flagstaff, Arizona in 2013. Cassandra has appeared in several productions in Denver; she sang Verna from "Together, the Musical" at the Lakewood Cultural Center in 2016. She just finished singing the Queen of the Fairies from Gilbert & Sullivan's "Iolanthe" in June 2017 in a production with orchestra and the Empire Lyric Players. She appeared as Ouiser in "Steel Magnolias" produced by Moon Theater Group at the Rialto Theater in Loveland in May 2015. And she just was hired by Boulder Opera to sing the amazing "Carmina Burana" with Centennial State Ballet in September 2017. She will also appear as Mrs. Santa Clause in "Polar Express" this November and December in Golden. Cassandra has studied voice and drama at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, the National Conservatory in Mexico City and the University of Texas in Austin and Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. A native Texan, she has also sung with the Houston Grand Opera and while living in Manhattan, she sang for twelve years with the Amato Opera Company.

I love teaching voice because every voice is unique and different and it is wonderful to hear the sound of each voice, expecially when a student has learned how to release their own sound. It is very exciting and fulfilling to me. I especially enjoy helping young singers as they study and prepare something they will be performing or even something they really love. But I also have helped many singers of all ages and background, by using my exercises and scales, how to learn a role or song quickly and in a way that empowers them to use their talents.
