About Cam

I like to let the student lead and find technical aspects of music in the songs they enjoy. A student is more likely to practice rudimentary things if they can see its application in their favorite songs!

Teaching is my true passion. Music is secondary. I love watching the look on a student's face when they have that breakthrough moment or when they finally get that part they've been practicing so hard for.

Instructor at Maine Academy of Modern Music

Music performance and Education degree from Wheaton College Massachusetts.

15+ years of musical study and experience.

I follow a very student-led teaching style. A student is much more likely to practice if they are practicing music they enjoy, and with this, you find a more "practical" teaching of music...regardless of instrument.

My usual clientele is ages 8-18 but it's never too late to pick up music!

I have extensive experience working with students with IEPs. I have had many students on the spectrum, students with ADHD, and even blind students. Every student is beautifully different and I love coming up with unique lesson plans for new students!

Do not settle for a teacher you are simply fine with. I would rather lose a student and have them find an instructor they love and are better off learning from than have someone just coast through lessons with me. Every student and every instructor is different!

What motivates you to practice?
What type of encouragement do you enjoy? (Do you like to be told all the things you did well, or do
